also, amanda must've the inscription that lara read when she enters the tomb in peru (right before the conversation, after lara reads the wall), i guess she was was compelled to find it herself, so she found rutland and got help from him, seeing as amanda was at the dais in bolivia bofore she was. me making the connection since lara finds a piece there, so it must have some connection. that explains king aurthurs bit.Īmanda, im guessing, has has some connection with the knowledge of avalon, due to her escaping peru with that necklace thing.

King aurthurs sword, excalibur, apparently is the key to paraside, as we now know. ?ĭuring TRL, while in peru (not a cutscene, just speech) lara and alister, with little input from zip) have a conversation about merlin and excalibur and that merlin was supposed to transport king aurthur to paradise-"Avalon". What on earth was the time-travel hint in legend all about? Old Lara seeing young Lara in present time. I've got a question - if the Dias's were teleportation / travel network to Helheim. The shape of the corridors, the glowing writing (admittedly a different font, which makes me doubt they're the exact same culture).Įxcalibur and Mjolnir were likely built by the same race of beings - and though the Scion looks different, if Natla in TR:A is to be trusted then it holds all the knowledge of the Ancients, in which case that was also probably created by the same race. The route down below Helheim to the device - the corridors were very Atlantean in design. Rather like the Old Testament with God creating all the floods to wash away the evil in the world caused by the Fallen Angels and the Nephilim.Īvalon, or Helheim (if they are infact one and the same - and not just stated as being the same to trick Lara/Amanda) was possibly Atlantean in creation, or even an offshoot. Why? I imagine it was something along the lines of if everything messed up, they could start again. Whoever built the Dias' and Excalibur, likely also built the Jormungandr Device. Reading Lara's journal though, it's the Eitr myth - that blue water - that makes people live forever as Thralls/Zombies. If Helheim was indeed Avalon, then it's likely the game was playing off the myth that people would 'live forever' in that place. Nope, Jormungandr and Avalon are not connected in real mythology - Avalon being in Celtic mythology, and Jormungandr in Norse myth. She was just using Amanda, and in the end Amanda didn't get anything she wanted.

Natla knew that Helheim wasn't going to give Amanda spiritual enlightenment, and knew of the Jormungandr device. This way, Natla had Amanda running around doing all the work for finding Helheim. I think Natla had tricked Amanda into believing she would gain spiritual enlightenment in Avalon, and that Avalon was actually Helheim. So if somebody could explain to me all of this I`d be more than happy :) There are more things to mention but can`t think of them right now. What is the connection between the Scion, Excalibur and Mjolnir?

Is there a connection between Avalon and Atlantis or they are two places which home the means of creating the "Sevent Age", Ragnarok? Natla wanted the scion to bring back the "Seventh Age". So what`s with Amanda and Avalon?Īlso is this what Avalon is all about? The home of Jormungandr? What did King Arthur had to do with it then?Įxcalibur is the key to the travel network leading to Helheim, but what for? Did King Arthur want to go there too? Why did Amanda want to go to Avalon ? We`ve seen that Avalon (Helheim) is nothing more than a home to Jormungandr! Natla wanted to bring Ragnarock upon the world or as she calls it "Seventh Age" with the release of the Midgard Serpent(I didn`t expect this to be the purpose of this mythical place, but oh well.), but I don`t think Amanda shared her purpose. There are certain things that weren`t explained and I just can`t seem to cope with the aspect of the story in this three games. but as the title of the topic suggests now I feel very confused. As I`ve completed TRU and enjoyed it very much, today I decided to get back to TRL and TRA and watch all cutscenes and get the whole story and the connection between the games.
